Supercharged energy drink powder is a powder for preparing a beverage that quickly replenishes lost energy stores and electrolytes. The product is based on maltodextrin and fructose in an optimal ratio of 1:0.8, which is the current standard in top-level sports drinks.
ADVANTAGES OF THE 1:0.8 MALTODEXTRIN : FRUCTOSE RATIO
More efficient carbohydrate absorption
Maltodextrin is absorbed via SGLT1 (a sodium-dependent glucose transporter), while fructose is absorbed via the GLUT5 transporter. The 1:0.8 ratio enables the use of both transport pathways simultaneously, allowing for greater total carbohydrate absorption per hour (up to 90–120 g CHO/h) without overloading a single pathway.
Fewer digestive issues
Consuming too much glucose or maltodextrin without fructose can saturate the SGLT1 transporter, leading to bloating, cramps, and diarrhea. Fructose in the right proportion (not too much!) reduces this burden and improves gastrointestinal tolerance.
Faster energy availability
Combining two types of carbohydrates provides both a quick and sustained energy source during activity. Maltodextrin rapidly raises blood sugar, while fructose is metabolised more slowly (in the liver), offering longer-lasting energy.
Glycogen preservation
Fructose primarily supports liver glycogen replenishment, while maltodextrin (glucose) replenishes muscle glycogen. This promotes comprehensive glycogen recovery after exercise or competition.
Optimal hydration and transport
Maltodextrin has a low osmolality, improving hydration and fluid absorption, especially in beverages. Fructose, in small amounts, does not significantly increase osmolality, helping the drink remain isotonic or hypotonic – ideal for sports use.

Electrolyte balance affects brain function, helping prevent confusion and mental fog, while supporting focus and reaction time.
Faster recovery
After exercise, electrolytes help restore fluid levels and contribute to muscle recovery and glycogen replenishment when combined with carbohydrates.

The drink is especially recommended for endurance sports (cycling, running, triathlon, etc.), where the goal is effective glycogen replenishment, energy supply, and electrolyte replacement during prolonged efforts.
