We know that you set high goals for yourself. So that you can climb higher, farther and faster, you must constantly maintain peak physical strength, and at the same time be careful to keep your energy level high. Depleting glycogen stores causes your strength to decline after a long climb. A strategic diet is therefore of utmost importance if you want to successfully climb to your set goals. Climbing is an activity during which you take breaks so glycogen stores can last almost all day with proper nutrition. You can also replenish your glycogen reserves by regularly consuming additional sources of carbohydrates, such as sports drinks, gels and bars.
You will maximize your preparedness by eating a balanced meal that should contain carbohydrates, proteins and fats at least 2 to 3 hours before the activity. Meals you consume closer to the start of the activity should be easily digestible and a source of proteins such as whey or protein bars. If the activity exceeds 60 minutes, use of energy drinks is recommended. Visit proteini.si before you embark on your next climbing adventure and restock on everything you need for a successful climb.
